It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Dagny Corcoran, our former Director of Books and Multiples.

A force of the Los Angeles art scene, Dagny gained recognition for her entrepreneurship behind the independent bookstore Art Catalogues, specializing in current and out-of-print exhibition catalogues and publications on modern art, architecture, and photography.

In the early 1970s, Dagny worked for the L.A. branch of Marian’s art publishing company Multiples, Inc., where she and Marian formed a longstanding relationship over their shared commitment to quality.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Dagny’s family and friends.

GERHARD RICHTER
Écrits 1962-1993
Published by Les Presses du Réel, 2012

Although Richter has expressed himself repeatedly in speech and writing, he has always been reserved about publishing his texts. Apart from numerous interviews, only a few fragments of individual texts have been published here and there. Texts 1962-1993 presents a selection of Richter's writings, including personal notes, public statements, interviews and letters.

The text recounts all the important stages of his career: his photo-paintings, his Nuanciers, the monochrome paintings and his abstract works. The book allows us to learn more about the artist's progression, his intentions and his processes.

NEW ON OUR SHELVES 🌤

ETTORE SPALLETTI

Il cielo in una stanza

Co-published by .it / , 2022

“In my work, I always want to create a space where people feel good, in which they feel immersed and somehow protected. The most important value for me is giving.”

This exhibition catalogue documents Ettore Spalletti’s exhibition “il cielo in una stanza” at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rome in 2021, curated by and in collaboration with
. This is the first catalogue to celebrate the great master of contemporary art just a few years after his death in 2019.

The color blue, which dominates the exhibition, in the form of monochrome, occupies the space and invites the viewer to immerse himself in this landscape and take part in an emotional experience. The vibrations of the blue color follow the changing light and atmospheric situations, while the viewer's time also acquires a meditative dimension.

TAVARES STRACHAN
In Plain Sight
Published by Marian Goodman Gallery, 2022

Tavares Strachan: In Plain Sight is the first major book on the artist to be published since 2014.
Focusing on his extraordinary exhibition at Marian Goodman Gallery London in 2020, the book includes a new and insightful text by esteemed writer and art critic .
The exhibition In Plain Sight combined painting, sculpture, installation, music, and performance within an immersive, site-specific experience. Many elements of the exhibition were hidden, revealing new and inner worlds to the visitors who discovered them.
The experience and the works on view prompted visitors to reconsider the Western canon, learn the value of forgotten histories, and invite new voices to participate.
