Today is heavy.
To my fellow survivors of sexual assault- my arms are around you.
Again and again in our society, rapists are rewarded.
Again and again, fathers, uncles, and brothers betray their wives, sisters, and daughters. And in the same afternoon, they’ll text “love you too.”
Let me be clear - this is not an unconditional love.
Seek solace in your sisterhoods and with men who are not cowards. My DMs are open. This NJG community is safe for you.
Survivors and my darling NJGs, we have weathered far worse storms.
Our darkest days are already behind us.
We are stronger than we think. Always. We continue to prove this to ourselves over and over again.
We take care of each other.
Take one moment at a time. Go get yourself some chocolate. Take a hot shower.
Tomorrow is a new day.
