Recently, they experienced a very disturbing loss of their dog. In the morning, when they went to let her out, she walked a few steps and then suddenly stopped. About 30 minutes later, she started bleeding heavily from her mouth and nose. This happened while they were getting ready to take her to the vet.
Unfortunately, she passed away on the way there. There was a large amount of blood, and it had a very foul smell.They suspect that the dog may have ingested a poisoned rat, possibly from a neighbor. Now, they are very afraid to let their other dogs into the yard. They are wondering if there were any warning signs they might have missed. The night before, around 10 pm, the dog seemed completely fine—playful and active. She had just turned 11 the previous week.They are asking about possible symptoms not out of guilt, but because they are concerned for their other dogs. Currently, the dogs are confined to a small 4x4 pen. The owner is disabled and cannot take them for walks. Additionally, two of the dogs are French Bulldogs, and the weather in their area is already in the 80s and can exceed 100 degrees. Normally, they would spend most of the day outside together.
