Unpopular opinion… Denver food is mid. Maybe even below mid. 😬
Like… is there a food culture out here that I missed?? Because baby the videos be video-ing but the flavors are not flavoring.
Now don’t get me wrong — everything *looked* good. Presentation? 10s. But as someone who grew up in Harlem, lives in Atlanta, and travels often… I was lowkey disappointed. I need seasoning. I need soul. I need to *feel* something when I eat.
And before y’all start — I’ll name where I went, but I’m not tagging anybody because I’m not here to be disrespectful to people’s businesses… just giving MY experience.
Here’s my honest breakdown:
Ruth Chris – 5/10
I know it’s a chain, but still… outside of the BBQ shrimp sauce and the Caesar salad… where was the seasoning??
Earl’s Kitchen & Bar – 7/10
Okay now this was decent. Dumplings and ribs were good and the cocktails did what they needed to do.
Sorry Gorgeous – 7/10
The rooftop vibe? Cute. Drinks? Good. Didn’t eat here but I’d go back for the aesthetic alone.
ARC Food Truck – 5/10
Fish wasn’t really seasoned… and that’s just something I can’t overlook.
Redeemer Pizza – 5/10 😒
No explanation needed.
Mimosas Urban Eatery – 6/10
Biscuit and gravy? No ma’am. French toast? Now THAT was good.
But let’s talk about it… my server was rude and questioning me about my allergies like sir… I know what I can and can’t eat. Please.
Maybe I just hit the wrong spots… but Denver, I expected more. 😩
Drop me some spots I SHOULD try because I’m willing to run it back… but right now? It’s giving potential with no follow through.
