2026, Week 24: The week ended with yet another wonderful Father's day weekend. I got to play basketball with some of my favorite people & spend the weekend sitting in a park with my wife & son while watching my daughter's softball team battle through some tough tournament play. Life is good.
As for the bench, the obvious highlight of the week would have to be working on Vinnie Corrao's 1964 Gibson Super 400C. A monster of a guitar that has been on a number of great 20th century classic recordings.

2026, Week 23: As the school year is closing out I am reminded, yet again, of how happy I am to have the family that I have. These kids, these young adults are growing into such amazing people & I am extremely happy to see the outside world recognize them for who they already are.

Anyway, here are the completed relairs & sales from last week. The cedar-topped, oval-hole Victor Baker #186 has been, in my opinion, one of the nicest & most unique archtops we've had in the shop. I've only ever shown it a small number of customers over the years & I'm glad it finally found a home.

2026, Week 22: Another marathon week on the bench with 22 completed repairs & sales.

I got a visit from one of, if not the one, my all-time favorite guitars. A gorgeous 1954 D'Angelico Excel which had just come in for a bridge replacement.

Another amazing instrument I got to handle last week was a stunning 14.5" Bill Comins Chester Avenue archtop which I setup & shipped to a customer in Connecticut. The small-bodied archtop was extremely lightweight but still packed a powerful, attacking voice that was surprisingly balanced for it being as small as it was.

2026, Week 19: The highlight of last week, for me, was getting a chance to get my hands deep inside a beautiful 1961 Gretsch 6192. When it came in it was dusty & looked like it hadn't been touched since the Carter administration.
Structurally it was in excellent condition but the wiring harness, despite looking untouched, was super crusty & I wasn't getting signal. I pulled out all the switchrs & controls & set about cleaning them all.
Once I got everything back in I gave the guitar a full detailing & setup & it's running like it's brand new again.
It's now hanging in the showroom & available for some lucky player to come & be part it's next chapter in life.

2026, Week 18: The highlight of my week (outside of spending the weekend at Hershey Park w/ ) was getting my hands on another gorgeous vintage Gibson L7P.
This particular one, a 1949 model, came in without a pickup or pickguard & we had the great Kent Armstrong build a custom floating pickup to fit beautifully under the shallow tongue.
Another gorgeous example of, what I think, is Gibson's best all-around model ever. It's available for sale here at but, while I don't expect it to, I definitely won't be sad if it sticks around for a while.
