Author Natalie Moss shares her deep love for libraries in honor of National Library Week:

“Libraries always feel like both a home, and a gateway to me. Each shelf contains little worlds, and each book is an open border. Growing I moved around across lots of countries, and I changed schools on average every two years. In some schools in particular, it was a lot harder to fit in. Libraries don’t discriminate. They became the point of continuity as everything else around me changed.” –Natalie Moss

A library is definitely more than a building. . .

On this National Library Workers Day, be sure to recognize all the library staff who help make the library such an amazing place to gather.

“Libraries have been ritual meeting grounds in my life for as long as I can remember. When I was a boy growing up in Savannah, Georgia, my mother used to teach art classes in our local library. My first summer job, at fourteen, was teaching theater to children in public libraries across the city. Today, I serve on the library council of my alma mater, Yale, a privilege that includes visiting historical institutions around the country. What I’ve learned is that a library is more than a building; a library is a ritual gathering space where minds meet across time.” — Bruce Feiler

We’re sharing the magic of libraries all week long in celebration of .
