※該350年史的基亞拉樹脂化區域的年齡是由加速器分析研究所測得的，該研究所是有機物質按時間排序領域的頂級企業。根據AMS放射性約會報告，按時間順序的約會結果顯示，樹脂化的年齡（形成伽羅的年齡，而不是樹木的年齡）介於1652（369年前）至1803（218年前）之間。已有350年史的伽羅，與《華盛頓公約》（即《瀕危野生動植物種國際貿易公約》）之後的人工香木大不相同，它具有獨特的品質和濃郁的香氣。

伽羅は沈香の中でも最上級品で、「香りの王者」とも評されています。
ベトナム中南部のごく一部の地域でしか採取されない、もっとも稀少な香木です。
その入手の困難さから、今では「まぼろしの香木」とも呼ばれています。
時の権力者であった足利義政や織田信長などが好んで焚いたといわれています。

Kyara is one of the finest agarwood products and is also described as the “king of fragrance”.
It is the rarest perfume tree collected only in a small part of central and southern Vietnam.
Due to its difficulty in obtaining it, it is now also called "Maboroshi no Kaoki".
It is said that Yoshimasa Ashikaga and Nobunaga Oda, who were in power at the time, liked it.
