Just dropped!….on Hallowed Waters Podcasts/ Trout Stalker Series . “The British 4th Wave - An Underwater Perspective on Selective Trout 2.0 ”-Peter Hayes and Don Stazicker.
Crossed the pond and had a truly brilliant conversation for 3 hours ( no dry fly fanatic should miss this one- knowledge bombs on steroids!) Probably the most intense and informative podcast I have done in years. These fine gents are amazingly talented, empirical minded British fly anglers/ authors/ photographers soaked in the inquisitive tradition of Halford/ G.E.M.Skues/ Sawyer with their trout behavioral theories. Their new book “ The Flies that Trout Prefer” is a remarkable tribute and taking it to a higher level from what La Fontaine/ Dennis , Swisher/ Richard’s, Caucci/ Nastasi, Marinaro, Proper, Goddard and Clarke, Borger, and my Selectivity book observations . After 8 years and tens of thousands of underwater videography clips/ photos and endless time on the water, their trout theories, views on the meniscus and emergers, rise forms, feeding lies and how trout eat naturals and imitations affirms all that has been written and observed in the modern era of empirical ‘thinking out side the box’ fly fisher.
