New and notable: WWII era USN “fouled anchor” sterling ring in a size 10.5. Silver was the material available to jewelers during the war, when metal rationing pulled gold and other metals toward war production. Enlisted men bought privately purchased jewelry at base posts and service stores as a badge of honor, a way to display their branch and identity even off duty.

Swipe to see a photo of some Navy men capturing an off-duty aesthetic, fresh off a bird hunting trip. Lots of notable features in this photo but if you look closely you’ll spot silver jewelry glinting off their fingers and wrists.
