Join us at Jabberwocky for the launch of one of the most exciting graphic novels of the year! Multi-hyphenate and local author Leah Hayes (illustrator, animator, musician, New York Times bestselling author) will be here to celebrate the release of her new adult graphic novel, “Identical”!

Two weeks from now (9/19) at 5pm in the Green Room we will have a reading and Q&A with the audience, and Leah will be signing at the conclusion of the event!

“Identical” is the story of twin girls set in the near future; one mother utilizes a new AI technology to help her get pregnant. But after her girls are born, she starts to suspect one of them is human, and one is not...

Her other adult work is “Not Funny Ha-Ha,” a work of graphic nonfiction about two women’s stories of getting an abortion. It has been described as “judgement-free, but still witty and brutally honest” by critics.

We cannot wait to have Leah back for what is bound to be a night of great reading and discussion!

Jabberwocky’s new horror book club is the perfect place to get started on some fall reads! The inaugural pick, “Never Whistle at Night” is an anthology of indigenous horror and dark fiction.

The first meeting will be September 24th at 5:30pm in the Green Room!

Hosted by bookseller and lover of all horror books, Shaunah, this is a great time to connect with other readers or dive into a new genre for fall!

Teacher Appreciation Weekend has begun! Today, we have reserved for our Newburyport teachers as a thank you for the school system’s support of the store over the years.

Tomorrow (8/23) will be open for all teachers who want to come out for some bookish/reading materials and supplies!

The Green Room is packed with great stuff, so the earlier the better to get in and check out our array.

We will provide bags to carry all the goodies you need, so just bring yourself! From event kits and discussion guides to literary posters and standees, there are plenty of supplies for any classroom or school library.

We are so happy to be able to give back to one of the communities that support us so fiercely! Few love indie bookstores as much as teachers and librarians, and we want to share the love!!

This Saturday is Bookstore Romance Day at Jabberwocky — and bookstores across the country — and it’s time to celebrate the romance readers, HEA lovers, and everyone in between.

On Saturday, all books in our romance section will be 10% off! It’s a great time to stock up for end-of-summer reads or read the book that’s the basis of the latest TV adaptation.

We’ll be sharing recommendations and more on our feeds, so watch out for that on Saturday as well!
