thank you for all the kindness from those that shopped regularly. I'm still enjoying time with my family and who knows, maybe I'll do retail again-thinking of home parties and I might do a Saturday or Sunday at Todd's Farm in Ipswich. I'll post what I'll be doing. Enjoy the transistion into Fall

I know it's been along time and the shop is closed, but I have a little story I'd like to share.

I belong to a group of women -Charity girls of NE and we have guest speakers come in from non profit organizations and tell us what they do and how they raise money for their cause etc..the group is just a bunch of women and we've become good friends and at the end of each year, the money we collect goes to the organizations that have spoken at our meetings.
This past Thursday we heard from Jocelyn Duff, mother of Talia. Talia has been diagnosed with CMT4J which is a very rare disease-only 22 people in the world have this disease and the cause is raising money to get the treatment for the cure into clinical trials. The biggest obstacle is time, to get the money raised to make it in time to help Talia. Jocelyn started her presentation by asking how many of us in the room had children-it brought her whole story to heart-what if, just what if it was your child or grandchild. After 5 years, the shop is closed, cleaned out-donations to charities, swept and wiped down and absolutely empty. It was so weird to lock the door for the last time and walk away. I once again want to thank everyone for making my dream of having a shop come true. I've done it, I loved it while I was doing it and now it's time for a new chapter in my life....so onward I go with a smile on my face, knowing I had a blast living the dream.

Tomorrow is the last day for Glitterati-it's been a great time being a shop owner and meeting so many people. I think tomorrow will be bitter sweet, leaving something that I worked so hard to create but in the same moment, realizing that I now have lots of time for my grandchildren. At this point in my life I know I've made the right decision, family is all that matters. So thank you to everyone that came into the shop to browse, to buy and just to chat and catch up. I hope everyone has a happy 2017 filled with only good things., Take care and thanks for making my dream of Glitterati come true.

This week the shop is open today-Sunday then Wed, Thur and Sat which should be my last day....so excited move on and enjoy the grandkids

Glitterati is very close to closing it's doors, I think the expected closing date will be Saturday, April 15th. I plan to spend a lot of time with my 5 grandchildren and not being in the shop all weekends, holidays etc will enable me to do just that. I'm looking forward to the next chapter of my life and am so happy to have met so many great customers. I hope this year is good to all of you and I hope we run into one another from time to time. Newburyport has always been a special place to me and my husband and we know we will be back to visit and enjoy the fine shops and dining on the other side of the window this time. Winding down to the last couple weeks-75% off all clothing, hats, mittens, gloves, socks and 60% off the rest of the shop. Still have some great handbags at 60% off original price...come visit -open Th thru Sun at least thru next weekend and after that who knows, it just might be the end at that point. Glitterati is 30-50% off everything in the shop. The shop is only open on Sat and Sun and will be closing by end of March. If hte weather permits and it's great weather like last weekend, the shop may be open Th and/or Fr if possible. Merchandise is selling quickly, come in and see what great deals you can get.
