Belleville Congregational Church is getting closer towards reopening its historic meetinghouse after the city recently awarded the High Street church $91,211 in Community Preservation Act funds. The money will be put its continuing efforts to restore the ceiling in the Belleville Meetinghouse at 300 High St.

Church Caretaker Wanted

Belleville Church, located at 300 High Street, Newburyport is hiring a part-time Sexton (Caretaker) responsible for building maintenance and operations. This position offers a flexible schedule of 4 to 6 hours per week with additional paid time for seasonal work and events.

Weekly tasks include: managing trash and recycling on Wednesday evenings; winding the tower clock; and inspecting and maintaining cleanliness of the buildings. Additional compensation for special events, grass mowing, and snow removal.
