They listened, they asked questions, and they shared -it sums up exactly the type of HVMS Board Members you are - bringing institutional knowledge into the room without ever believing you’re finished learning.

We are incredibly proud of the Hilton Village Main Street board members who joined more than a dozen Virginia Main Street communities today in Portsmouth for Rev Up - a day centered on learning, connection, reflection, and strengthening the work we do together.

Our board dove into the story of Hilton Village Main Street - where we started, how we’ve grown, what we’ve learned along the way, and …where we’re headed next.

But what made us especially proud was the way they showed up.

They learned alongside other Main Street boards. They listened intently. They asked challenging questions. And they shared their own experience and wisdom openly, generously, and authentically.

There is something powerful about being in a room full of people who understand that strong communities aren’t built by having all the answers. They’re built by people willing to learn from one another, share what works - and what hasn’t - and keep moving the mission forward.

Watching our board tell our growth story while also making space to learn from the experiences of other Virginia Main Street communities was inspiring.

This is leadership.
This is collaboration.
And this is how strong Main Streets get even stronger.

We came home energized, grateful, and ready for what’s next. 💛

Hilton Village Main Street is turning up the heat with our Fall Fest Chili Cook-Off, and every tasting ticket helps us invest right back into the heart of our community.

❤️ Proceeds from the Chili Cook-Off will support Hilton Village Main Street’s Façade Improvement Grant Program!

These grants help our local businesses make meaningful improvements to their storefronts - from fresh paint to awnings, lighting, architectural details and other enhancements that preserve the charm of Hilton while helping our small businesses put their very best face forward.

When you purchase a tasting ticket, you’re doing more than sampling some seriously good chili.
🌶️ You’re helping create a more beautiful, welcoming and vibrant business district for all of us.

Come taste your way through the competition, cast your vote for Villager’s Choice, and know that every delicious spoonful is helping us reinvest in Hilton Village.

Brown Leaf Tea
Steep. Drink. Connect. Love More.

It’s a beautiful progression:

Knowing what we all know about Brown Leaf Tea Bar, that tagline captures exactly why they’re such a perfect first brick-and-mortar business to grow inside the incubator.

They don’t just sell tea - they create a place where conversations happen, strangers become regulars turned family, and hospitality becomes the reason to visit as much as the drink itself.

☕ Steep in the moment instead of rushing through it.
🫖 Drink something crafted with care.
🤝 Connect with old friends, new faces, and your community.
❤️ Love MORE than you did when you walked through the door.

For years, Brown Leaf Tea Bar has become a farmers market and festival favorite, bringing people together one cup at a time. From their charming “Ol’ Boi” tea trailer to their exciting new brick-and-mortar home, they’ve never just served tea - they’ve created a place where meaningful moments are beyond happenstance, friendships grow, and a heart for this Village is poured into every cup.
We’re honored that Brown Leaf Tea Bar is the first business to advance through our small business incubator.

They embody everything we believe a Main Street business can be: welcoming, intentional, and rooted in treating people well.
Here’s to slowing down, sharing a cup, and loving one another in our historic district a little better.

We cannot wait to welcome you to experience Brown Leaf Tea
Steep. Drink. Connect. Love More. 🍃
