Late 19th , early 20th century Oak Singer treadle sewing machine.
If I have done one of these, I have done a hundred of these over the last 45 years.
They were big in the 1980’s , probably did 5-6 every year. Now maybe one every 5 years.
Completely disassembled, stripped, repaired , refinished. Base sandblasted, primed painted , gilded.
Cabinet is quarter cut white oak , base is cast iron . Machine still works. This one is dated 1910-1917.
There were a lot of manufacturers out there ,Singer and White being the most popular.

Made this for Leo. Parts from my Sprinter.
He loved that truck, grew up in it, played in it, slept in it , worked in it.
It is the emblem off the back doors. He tried to take it when it got totaled. I would not let him.
The key is the one he carried when he worked . Shop monkey is what I call him at work, a title originally given to his Dad when he worked for me .
The plaque is purpleheart, 10k gold leaf gilding on the edge , quilted maple shelf. I had that piece of maple for 40 plus years waiting for the right project.
His mom painted the lettering but has no idea what it was for.

At Rik’s Woodworx I have an affectionate name for my Shop Employees , this has been a tradition for decades.
Unless you are Shop Manager, which I have not had one in awhile , I refer to them as Shop Monkeys. If you work the truck , you are a Truck monkey.
Mr. Leo Talley carries the title of Shop Monkey as of late and I asked Grok to make me a picture depicting this. He did not disappoint.
FYI , Mr. Leo’s dad was one of my original Shop Monkeys some twenty years ago. Must be hereditary.

Hardware. These are the screws, nuts, bolts and fasteners that hold things together. I do not think we give them enough credit.
On old pieces I work on they are usually rusted, corroded, bent , broken snd even missing. In some cases , more than not, these items are not available in hardware stores and I have to fabricate them.
I try to keep things authentic and period to the piece. If the piece uses slot steel screws , I use slot steel screw, not a Phillips head or galvanized screw. I often salvage old pieces just so I can harvest old hardware , store it for future projects.
The pictures show a set of hardware from a table I am working on , this shows them cleaned and lacquered. I did not get before pictures due to the fact I did not know I would be discussing them .

I was gifted this rare print from a dear friend about 8 years ago.
I picked up this frame ( two of them actually ) about 10 years ago at an antique shop in Ohio . It is a walnut Victorian frame , ebonized trim sith a gold leaf liner frame. Circa 1860
The outer frame was in good shape but the inner frame was split, gold leaf damaged. It framed a nice sketch of flowers , most likely original , which I kept and it is behind the Woodstock print for safe keeping.
I restored the frame , covered the inner frame with two layers of gold leaf . It still has the original hand blown glass and wood back, covered with a craft brown paper back just like the original.
It has taken me about three years to complete , sounds like me. Enjoy.

PS If you look closely at the leaves, there is a piece of gold that got between the print snd the glass.
I will just leaf that there. 🍁

Opa has finally completed his Christmas.
Sophia and Aroara , your Great Grandaddy was a dedicated hunter and wanted you to have these.
He was unable to Mount these for you , as GOD called him home. GOD in his way, made sure they were complete and delivered to you. Your Great Granddaddy loves you very much and I know you miss him.
The St. Jude’s toys are the last of this year and from Opa. Put them with your collection.

I forgot to share these. They are page holders for books. Made them for Christmas, made one for myself even though I would rather get an ass whoopin than read a book.

Super Genius !! This is what happens when you were raised by cartoons in the 60’s & 70’s .
Acme Bomb Clock. Black Walnut, Birds Eye Maple , red dyed poplar for the Dyno-Mite , ebonized walnut for the retaining rings.
Naked clock works so you can see the gears doing their thing . Jeweled out with copper coils, brass hardware .
