🎣 Friday Morning Fish Report with Mark Akerill
Happy October from Englund Marine! 🍂
🐟 Salmon: Tidewater fishing is pretty quiet overall. The Necanicum has fish around, but the bite has been tough. A few fish are still being caught above the bridge on the Washington side with spinners and bobber-fished anchovies. The Cowlitz and Lewis rivers continue to fish well.
🦀 Crabbing: River crabbing has been decent, and Saturday is looking GOOD — soft tides, less than a three-foot runout in the morning and favorable weather. Chicken and squid may be better bait choices with plenty of seals and sea lions still around.
🐟 Bottom Fishing: Washington is closed, but Oregon is still open. With favorable weather and tides, the South Jetty could be worth a try while the crab pots are soaking.
🏖️ Razor Clams: Oregon is open, but this weekend’s better tides are around midnight. Washington opens Friday, Oct. 9, with good evening and nighttime tides.
🦌 With deer season opening this weekend and muzzleloader elk season across the river, Mark says the water might be a little more peaceful. 😄
