Well, here they are!ā¤ļø
All of the finished shoes from our class last weekend.
And I just love how different every single pair is.
Same supplies sitting on the tables.
Same instructions.
Same 2 1/2 hours.
And somehow, not one pair looks like another.
I made a pair too, but mine arenāt quite ready to show you yet. Elsie took one look at them and got so excited about an idea she had for them, she thought of a ribbon she has that she feels would be absolutely perfect. I love how she notices those little details, and Iām really looking forward to seeing what she comes up with for them. ā¤ļø So my reveal will have to wait.
But as I was going through all of these pictures, I realized something.
The shoes were really only part of it.
Because there were a lot of little moments in those 2 1/2 hours that you donāt see when you only show the finished product.
People sitting around a table trying to decide between fabrics.
Someone asking the person next to them what they thought.
Laughing.
Talking about life.
Helping each other when something wasnāt quite working.
And slowly watching a plain pair of shoes turn into something that looked completely different from anyone elseās.
I think thatās what I loved most.
For a couple of hours, nobody was really in a hurry.
We were just sitting around a table, making something together.
And maybe thatās why I wanted to share some of the behind-the-scenes pictures along with the finished shoes.
Because the process mattered too.
A huge thank you to Nancy for bringing this idea to life and sharing her creativity with all of us. And thank you to every single person who came, tried something new, laughed with us and spent part of their Saturday at Silverado.
I donāt ever want to take that for granted.
You guys show up for the crazy little ideas around here, and somehow they turn into days like this. ā¤ļø
We definitely want to do another shoe class. And weād really like to start doing more classes in general.
But before we start picking dates, I want to hear from you.
If you missed this one ā or youād come back and do it again ā what works best for you?
Weekday evenings?
Saturday mornings?
Saturday afternoons?
Something completely different?
Tell me below.
Because I think we need to do more of this. ā¤ļø
