Had a really fun day at the store yesterday, many people rolled thru before and after Recordville Record Fairs’s throwdown in Cambridge, which I heard was great. Congrats to Studebaker Hawk DJ for all the hard work.

In Newton, Mark Francis and DJ JACQUES both killed it on the decks with two very different cannabis-themed sets.

And more awesome tunes await TODAY.

1 pm Robert Gibson

3 pm JBo of Flying Vipers and The Macrotones

Oh, and we have records, too!!!

Please come on down and say hello.

The honorable Henry Santoro was kind enough to do a lengthy news piece on Root For Us and our "No On Question 8" DJ sets this weekend on WGBH-FM's The Culture Show | GBH. It ran yesterday, Friday, Oct 23 and was more than 2 mins long.

I am posting a shorter, edited version here that is better for Insta. There is a longer version (without the music that ran in the piece since YouTube blocked that, ugh) on the Root For Us website's Press page, if you'd like to hear the fuller version.

THANKS to Henry and WGBH-FM, the coverage is truly appreciated. I hope we see a bunch of great people at the store this weekend for four awesome DJs. For more info on who is hitting when, check our IG post from Friday, or the Events page on the website.

(1) I love being neighbors with a dispensary -- Redi Dispensary. It's a great industry with so many friendly, kind, positive people in it, from customers to owners (and everyone in between). Massachusetts is better off with legal recreational cannabis. End of story.

(2) Question 8 on the Massachusetts ballot -- which is trying to overturn all the benefits of the industry, and upend the lives of people who are a part of it -- is ridiculous. We already voted on this, and not so long ago. So please do your research and then consider voting NO ON QUESTION 8.

(3) To help with awareness about all of the above, I am hosting four amazing DJs (and friends) this weekend at the store -- two each day, Saturday and Sunday, all vinyl sets. They are all putting a lot of work into these w&&d-centric sets, so please come out and hear the fruits of their expertise and creativity!

I hope to see many of you this weekend!!! Vote, vote, vote!

(And many props to Talking Joints Memo and Chris Faraone aka Tony Stanza for all the hard work their team has done on the No On Question 8 campaign)

This Massachusetts Question 8 bizness is foolish. As a neighbor to one of the best dispensaries in the state, Redi Dispensary, I can say that having legal cannabis in Massachusetts has been -- and will hopefully continue to be -- nothing but positive.

To try and make sure that people consider that specific question and also to make sure to make their way all the way down the ballot and actually let their voice be heard, I am hosting some amazing DJs, who will be playing appropriately themed sets on Sat and Sun, Oct 24 and 25.

Mark your calendars, come and hang out and make sure you VOTE, and VOTE NO ON QUESTION 8!!!!!!
