Hello everyone, thank you for stopping by.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to participate in this year’s Big E in September/October.
This would have been my 44th year at The Big E.
I had a medical emergency and have to take this year off from the fair.
I had very bad cataracts in the early spring. They progressed very quickly until for all intent and purpose I was blind for several months.
My surgery had to be delayed for several months and I wasn’t able to get the surgery that I needed until July. I’m happy to report that my vision has returned. One eye is perfect. The other one has a complication that will be resolved late September.
I simply haven’t had enough time to prepare for the fair this year. I have had to take a medical leave of absence from The Big E for this year.
I will be returning in 2027, and I’ll be back in my regular spot, just off of The Storrowton Green.

I will have pottery for sale at my studio in Newtown, CT. I expect a have some pottery to sell during December.
I will be available the first three weekends in December from 11:AM - 5:00PM.

If those times aren’t convenient for you, I expect to be around most anytime for the month of December. Please leave me a message here, or call me at (203) 426-8602 and I can arrange a time that is convenient for you.

A case of false advertising

This is the picture of all the pots that came out of the last firing.
They will be available at my open house the next two weekends.

I’ve got more pots coming out of the kiln. As you will see, there is a huge difference in the pots after the firing. The colors that go in the kiln are nothing like the finished pots that come out.

I never know exactly how they will come out until the kiln has cooled for nearly a day after the kiln gets shut down at its peak temperature.

Here is a loaded kiln ready to be fired.

It’s temperature rising on it’s way up.

Then, after the kiln has cooled back down, comes the reveal.

What a difference 2,300° makes.
