Update on Daisy: her first night at home was rough. Her pain was not well controlled. A friend of mine stayed with her on Friday so that I could work. When I got home Friday, she was still in a lot of pain. So I called the vet and they increased her pain medication. Since then, she has done phenomenal. She has started eating and drinking again. We are sleeping through the night. However, she has learned how to navigate very well and keeping her confined to a small space has been rough. She cries because she has to be left in a small space. She’s not allowed to run or take leash walks yet. She’s only allowed to walk to go to the bathroom and to eat. I am so very grateful that she is doing well. Thanks to everyone for checking on her. The next 8-12 weeks will be hard, just watching her be sad because she has to stay so confined. I do lay with her on the floor and lift her on the bed in the basement and give her lots of snuggles. 🥰

My girl Daisy has been released from the animal hospital. She is doing pretty well using 3 legs. Keep her in your prayers as we navigate through the recovery and pray we have no complications. I am so blessed to know such amazing people. Love you guys ❤️‍🩹

Daisy is out of surgery. Everything went well. They are gonna keep her on a pain drip for the night and I will be able to pick her up tomorrow after work. I am relieved that they were able to get her fixed back up. Now onto a few months of recovery. But hey, we have this huge mountain behind us!

Miss Daisy was approved for surgery today. The specialist felt confident that despite her size and Crohn’s Disease she was a good candidate for ACL repair. Surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday morning and she should be home by Thursday evening. I am hopeful that she can gain mobility. Thanks to everyone who has checked on her. I see today as an answered prayer. 🙏 💕
