Quick and easy project I did this past week.
We need more little end tables outside by benches and chairs so I grabbed some wood we had on hand and whipped this little guy up! More little end tables to come cuz this one is already a hit!

This bed frame has never had a headboard for over 10 years and it was about time it get one. I have always wanted to make one but just haven’t and after my daughter hit her head on the wall for what felt like the millionth time, it was time! I didn’t want to spend any money on this project, cuz you know - economy. We have a barn full of random scrap wood so I used whatever was the right size and thankfully I was able to find enough. I built the frame during one nap time, then sanded and painting it during another naptime, then added padding (what sewist doesn’t have random pieces of batting and fleece fabric laying around). I had just enough leftover fabric from some curtains I made years ago, had to piece a little of it together to make it work but you can barely tell (kinda). I didn’t want the headboard moving cuz you know - kids, so I zip tied it to the legs of the bed frame and it is super sturdy! I’m very happy with how it turned out, would I have done a few things differently if I was to spend money on materials for this project? Definitely, I would but for my first headboard I am very happy and it is getting the job done! So here is your reminder that you don’t have to spend a bunch of money to make stuff, well I guess technically we spent money on these materials but that was years ago so it free - girl math!

Thursday naptime activity: life has been crazy busy so my craft table has become a dumping ground. Some stuff just needed to be out in its proper place while other items were projects. I fixed the seam of a pillowcase, seam of a shirt sleeve, a pocket on a pair of jeans, and added cuffs to the bottoms of 4 pair of pjs. I love adding cuffs to the bottom of pjs when they get holes in them or even to just extend my kids wear time in a pair of jammies that they love. I have a collection of random sweatshirts that I steal the sleeve and bottom cuff from. I had a couple more projects I wanted to fix but my 2 year old took a shorter nap.

At the end of the school year I like to give my kids teachers a gift card as a thank you but I like to personalize it differently every year. This year I had my kids paint pots and put a plant in it since we had a bunch of pothos clippings. We suck at keeping house plants alive in our house for lots of reasons but these are resilient plants! I also had my kids color a card and write a message to their teacher. The kids loved doing it and the teachers seemed to love it too! It’s was a fun and simple project that we will probably do again!

Our 2026 veggies garden has been planted! The question is what will survive because we bought the plants over a week ago and they were struggling in their tiny pots, the wind and dryness did not help either! We are prepared to have to buy replacement plants but I’m hopeful most of the plants will pull though. The spinach and zucchini look the worst.
Two garden “hacks” I love and swear by now: soaking plants before putting them in the ground and putting an egg with pepper plants (I didn’t do it last year out of laziness and we got way less peppers so I credit the egg).

Yarn is my happy place. I end pretty much every single day with some crocheting and I look forward to it all day! I’m especially proud of this sweater cuz I made it with no pattern and I have wanted to make myself a sweater for years!

One more moment for this cardigan that was over a year in the making and took multiple attempts!

In 2025 I decided instead of doing new year resolution I would do a BINGO sheet that way I didn’t feel as bad if I didn’t complete all my goals! It was fun! I ended up getting Bingo in the final days of the year with completing a quilt for my husband! I also crocheted a blanket in the last month of the year, a small Christmas themed blanket for my kids. And I completed a cardigan!!!! Wooooo I call that a successful 2025, I mean it was pretty sad that Joann’s closed but we can’t dwell on that 😭😭😭😭
Since it was a fun and very little pressure, I decided to do another 2026 bingo card!
