Shawnee Pottery Company operated in Zanesville, Ohio, from 1937 to 1961, producing pottery that was sold through major retailers like Woolworth, McCrory, S. S. Kresge, and Sears Roebuck.

The company used the former American Encaustic facility (built in the 1800s, world's largest tile company building) and created a distinctive logo designed by Louise Bauer, inspired by local Shawnee Native American heritage and arrowheads found in the area.

Today, Shawnee pottery remains popular with collectors for its history and charming designs.
