Picking update for Saturday, June 29th, our last day. We have about 13 bushes that are well-laden and another 53 that have some pickable berries. Most of the berries are of the smaller, sweeter types, so picking a full bucket or pail will take somewhat longer.

LAST PICKING DAY: Saturday, June 29th, 9 AM - 1 PM

This Saturday will be our last picking day for the 2024 season. Picking conditions are fair, but we don't expect the patch to last that way after this week.

Picking conditions are fair to good for the 5 - 8 PM evening session on Wednesday, June 26. 21 bushes still have lots of berries, another 35 have berries worthwhile picking. There are a number of bushes in the back part of the patch that can be gleaned as well.

Picking conditions for two picking sessions on Wednesday, June 26th, still look good. About 20% of the patch has a decent amount of berries. However, recommend you check this Facebook site before you come out. The birds have increased and we have chased them out. We will check first thing in the morning and post an update. We will also post an update around 3 PM for the 5 - 8 PM session in case we had heavy morning picking or well-fed birds

We expect to close sometime in the next week, and will update this page when we do.

Picking conditions for Monday, June 24th, look good. We have moved into late season, with almost 1/3rd of the bushes still having a decent amount of berries. Birds are behaving themselves.

Picking conditions for Saturday, June 22, continue to look good. We are post-peak, and some of the bushes are picked out. But with the late season bushes coming on, there should be plenty to pick. The birds continue to explore, but the flock has been small so far. Come enjoy picking.

The berries continue to be plentiful. Picking conditions should be excellent tomorrow, Wednesday June 19, for both sessions (9 to 1 PM, 5 to 8 PM). Stay hydrated and see you in the Patch.

Picking tip: picking is faster if you have two hands free. You also have easier access to that cluster of fat juicy berries inside the bush if you have a second hand free to move the branches in the way Tie your bucket to your waist, or sling it from your shoulders. We have string available. But it's faster if you can bring a spare belt, a f***y pack, a backpack or a kiddie carrier with a waist belt etc. I've used a bungee cord in a pinch. Anything that will hold a bucket where you want it. 😉

The Patch is peaking! Both blueberries and black raspberries are plentiful! Tomorrow, Monday June 17, we'll be fully open (Mark has hit the fever-free Covid milestone) 9 AM to 1 PM. Grab the crew and lets get these berries to good homes before the robins settle in. The advance team is already exploring the patch.

Mark has Covid (and is in the basement), but Peggy is okay so far. Two changes for tomorrow’s picking session. First, EVENING SESSION is CANCELLED. Second, the morning session will be on an honor system – You pick, you weigh, you look up the price on my handy little sheet, you put your cash /check in the box or Zelle it to me. Depending on her health, Peggy may be around to help.

Picking conditions have returned to near normal. The mid season berries are coming in, but they have not hit peak, so even more should be ripe tomorrow

TEMPORARY SCHEDULE CHANGE. Tomorrow's and Saturday's picking sessions are cancelled, Instead, our next picking day will be this Friday, June 15th. Two sessions: 9 AM - 1 PM and 5 - 8 PM. The patch needs more time to ripen, and we have an unexpected family event on Saturday.

We expect to return to our normal Mon / Wed / Sat schedule next week, but we will temporarily change the hours on Facebook to match this week's changes. We apologize for any plan disruptions.
