Pitho Crabs are known for eating bubble algae and hair algae in Saltwater Aquariums. They do best in a well established tank, with a lot of live rock. Once they’ve eaten all of the nuisance algae, they need to be fed seaweed or algae wafers. They do well in reef tanks, and don’t bother coral. They’re generally pretty peaceful, but crabs can be crabby – it’s a good idea to watch them when you add them to your tank to make sure that they get along with your other tank inhabitants.
