As Lauren stated, this book makes one question going to the beach. The end was a surprise. I only figured out one aspect of it - the granddaughter part. Good book.

Just finished this book I checked out of Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library

Talk about a slow burn.
But totally worth it and not because the ending is all twisty and unbelievable but because the characters are layered and messy and yes unhinged, and the writing is chef’s💋

This was my first Moshfegh book- surely not my last.

Next up Kin

I can’t say it enough: we are a community bookstore for everyone in the community.
Books are donated by the community so their neighbors can have books.
Everyone who “works” here is a volunteer.
We (especially Lauren) LOVE chatting with people and learning about and from them.
When you walk in, you’ll always see us working on some community project or promoting some community event or other small business.
We sell books but we are really here for the community we love.

I can’t even begin to imagine how!

The upcoming movie adaptation of George Saunders's novel, "LINCOLN IN THE BARDO," just added three huge names to its already incredible cast!

Willem Dafoe, Peter Dinklage, and Jonathan Bailey have officially joined the upcoming adaptation of the novel, which features Tom Hanks as Abraham Lincoln.

The three newcomers will lend their voices to some of the book's most memorable ghosts: Willem Dafoe as Reverend Everly Thomas, Peter Dinklage as Hans Vollman, and Jonathan Bailey as Roger Bevins.

And this won't be a traditional adaptation either. The movie is being created as a fascinating mix of "live-action and stop-motion animation," with filmmaker Duke Johnson directing and Saunders himself adapting his novel for the screen.

With Tom Hanks, Willem Dafoe, Jonathan Bailey, and Peter Dinklage now involved, this cast is getting seriously impressive.

I liked that I’d never heard of this book before, that it was translated from Spanish, and that it was multi generational!

lol---I had never heard of it before either! But because we love our subscribers we put in the work to make sure we hit the mark.

And those few times we miss the mark, we will make it up to you for sure!
