Today is 9/11, many of us know exactly where we were 25yrs ago. 6yrs we opened our doors for the first time (what a strange day for an opening). It’s one of our dear friends birthdays Heather J Farley Its also Sarah’s last day. It’s amazing how life unfolds, how a tragic day can also be a day of celebration for a very different reason.

So come have feeling with us!! Storewide 15% (except stuff on consignment) Saturday is party energy with gift bags and thank-you cards sprinkled throughout the shop for a little scavenger hunt (1 per person). Cupcakes and bubbles offered + A special Terrarium Bar (spooky stuff and other fall stuff)

Sunday is the after party! Relax talk plants, and help us figure out what the next 6 yrs look like 🎂❤️🍄

Sarah….what can I say

I remember the moment she walk through our Eagle street doors. Her boyfriend so supportive of her miniature plant buying. (You’d be surprised how many are not) She’d buy my favorite things, in some ways she was my muse for purchasing all things cute. When she asked if we were hiring, Bonnie and I were like ‘let’s figure this out, she’s so great!’ That was 5 yrs ago ❤️

Sarah’s been through it all, she’s helped us move, start a shop, close a shop, taught workshops, BLOOM events, watered plants, keep the shop going, called plant bingo names, helped so many customers, been a ride or die. She’s gone from customer to staff to friend to family. I’ve watched her work 3 jobs, graduate college, all while being the cutest dressed human on this planet. Sarah is so incredibly talented. Singer, artist, makeup artist, plants person, and educator (and probably 9 other things i’m forgetting)

and so this makes me sad, but also so happy for her to announce that’s she found a full time job ❤️ One that gives her financial breathing room, one that doesn’t require her to work all the time. (The sad reality of small brick and mortar) So Sarah, thank you!! Thank you for all your hard work! Thank you for all your support! Thank you for the grace you give this world! Thank you for being one of my golden girls! I couldn’t be more excited for your future ❤️ love ya always Sarah Nicole

So as we turn 6, it’s also sad to be Sarah’s last week, I know she’ll be around…but its all the feelings

And Just like that we’re 6!

6 years ago, we opened our doors to the Plant Connector…A place that was created as a love letter to North Adams. Our whole goal was to connect when we were super scared to do so. We thought plants were a beautiful gateway….hence, the Plant Connector ❤️

2020, our streets were quiet, Downtown was pretty empty, there was a lot of uncertainty and honestly….

I really did think we’d be still here 6 yrs later. I remember someone saying on the Planning Board, ‘a plant shop?, good luck’

But you all showed up!

You bought Plants, You Stood inline 6’ apart, you told your friends, you became our friends, you started opening businesses too, your children have become adults, your plant babies trees, and our little shop grew and this place is exactly what we hoped it would be, a place of connecting

Grateful is an understatement.

We’re going to celebrate 6yrs this weekend 🎂 So put on those party shoes we got some fun stuff in store

Today is voting day! Lately I’ve been reading a lot about generational stewardship, the people who mapped out our communities, planted tree, created gardens for future generations . While reading ‘Trees of North Adams’ (In our library’s vault! coolest place on earth) I came across The Monday Club…a group of women who would meet in the late 1800s, in our library, discuss books, plant trees and organize the women’s suffrage movement. We have so much history in our community and so much opportunity to come together and create a better life. Voting is a power!
