TOMORROW!

When two rival music executives wake up married in Las Vegas with no memory of tying the knot, they have to recreate their night together while competing to sign the band of their dreams in this smart and sexy rom-com that combines Book Lovers with The Hangover.

We're looking forward to welcoming author Emily Martin in conversation with Kendall Kulper to celebrate the release of her debut Romance: Winner Takes All. A conversation and Q&A with the authors will be followed by a signing. Tax inclusive tickets are $19.13 and include your copy of the book.

Emily Martin is the author of the young adult novels Five Ways to Fall Out of Love and The Year We Fell Apart. When she’s not writing, Emily enjoys painting, hiking, and watching (arguably) too much TV. Emily is originally from Michigan, but currently lives in Boston with her husband, two daughters, and Goldendoodle.

Kendall Kulper is an author and artist living in Cambridge, MA. She writes historical fantasy for young adult readers. She graduated from Harvard University with an honors degree in History & Literature in 2008 and lives with her husband, two daughters, and much-Instagrammed dog, Abby.

About the book: Talent scout Eleanor Thompson arrives in Las Vegas with one goal: sign the popular alt-rock group Dempsey to her record label and subsequently save her job. Unfortunately for her, Adam Shaw—former colleague and the man who recently poached the top performing artist from Eleanor’s roster—has the same idea. When Adam crashes Eleanor’s dinner meeting with the band, it sets them off on a night of shot-fueled one-upmanship that ends with matching wedding rings.

With only a few hours until the party where Dempsey plans to announce their new record label, Eleanor and Adam embark on a wild dash around Vegas to fix the previous night’s mistakes. Between meeting an attorney in the back of a strip club, getting blackmailed into playing the newlywed game, and a surprisingly deep moment outside a karaoke bar, Eleanor and Adam begin to fall for one another. Do they dare place a bet on love? Or will they keep their cards close?

Part scavenger hunt, part escape room, part jigsaw puzzle. This event is for readers of any age who are up for a bookish adventrure through their favorite bookshop. Zero prior knowledge of codes or puzzles required.
Your ticket to the Buried Feelings Escape Room event includes event activities, a signed copy of the book, and a chance to win a $20 gift card. The event will be hosted by Courtney Ahern, NAHS Librarian.
About the book: Cam was the one who discovered the hunt. He brought it to Ivy like an offering, took her hand as they combed through San Francisco, searching for treasure and conspiring against the heteronormative agenda. But that was back then.

Now juniors, they're both out and proud—Cam as a trans man and Ivy as gay—but their friendship isn't as assured. Problem is, Ivy can’t reveal Cam’s past betrayal without airing closely guarded secrets of her own.

As Ivy comes across the missing link in the treasure hunt from their childhood, she’s certain she can put the clues together and finally come out on top in the cat-and-mouse game Cam’s been playing with her ever since their friendship ended.

Once Cam gets wind of Ivy’s renewed interest in the hunt, the ex-best friends will go head-to-head in their search for gold. But as they get digging, they’ll uncover more things buried between them than they bargained for.

School's out in North Andover and it's officially SUMMER! Independent readers up to seniors in high school can now join our summer reading challenge! If you’ve participated in the past, we’ve changed it up once again. The books get thicker and take longer to read as you get older and we keep trying to make it fair but also keep it interesting.

This year, we will have three age groups.

Kids reading independently up to age 8 will read 10 books for each round
Kids age 9-12 will read 7 books for each round
Kids age 13+ will read 5 books for each round

The program has been so popular in the past that we've added even more opportunities for you to earn prizes with three rounds of goodies. When you’ve read the number of books for your age group, you’ll earn that round’s prize.

Round 1 – A free Advanced Reader Copy of your choice. Book publishers send us lots of these to let us preview the books that are coming out. We’ll have lots of choices, but make sure you get started early so you get the best choices!

Round 2 – A free paperback for $10 or less

Round 3 – A free Purple Couch Bookshop mug AND 5% off of any children’s and young adult books in your purchase

Don’t forget to show your work so that we can give you credit. We need to know which books you read. Pick up a reading list in store, or download it from our website and make some notes about what you thought. What did you like? Who were your favorite characters? Or even if you didn’t end up liking it, we want to know that too!

The program will runs from June 23, 2026through September 6, 2026. Each child can participate in three rounds. If we did more than that, we’d go out of business.

On Tuesday, August 4, Purple Couch Bookshop is excited to welcome back indie sensation A.K. Caggiano was we celebrate the epic third book in the Villains & Virtues series, perfect for fans of The Princess Bride, following a not-so-evil-anymore demon lord and the baroness responsible for his change of heart who finally must confront their feelings for each other. But how can they admit their attraction when the world is ending? Tickets are $20.18 per person and include a copy of the special edition paperback, featuring intricately sprayed edges.

Nothing about Damien Maleficus Bloodthorne’s evil destiny has gone according to plan. The reason? The kindhearted baroness who has somehow managed to entangle herself in his softening heart. But once again amongst his peers at Yvlcon, the preeminent congregation of the vilest and most unscrupulous villains in existence, Damien’s moral growth is threatened just when he’s learning to be slightly less evil. Consequently, Amma finds her own virtue in peril when faced with so much temptation, namely in the form of a domineering blood mage she can’t—or doesn’t want—to say no to.

But a burgeoning romance is doused in the coldest of baths when the Grand Order of Dread commands Damien to once again face the swirling vortex of entropy that’s been hunting them all over the realm. The coming eclipse points to devastation and destruction, with annihilation impossible to avoid, prophecy being, well, prophecy, after all.

But there’s an entire fortnight before the world is supposed to end, and surely that’s enough time to find some way around it. . . or at the very least to confess one’s devotion to the other before it all burns down around them.

A story of two sisters, one impossible choice, and the long shadow of the past—perfect for readers of Broken Country.

The Purple Couch is excited to welcome author Debra Curtis to discuss her novel, The Laws of Love and Logic. A conversation and Q&A with the author will be followed by a signing. Tax inclusive tickets are $31.88 and include your copy of the book. The Laws of Love and Logic is one of the first books published by Jenna Bush Hager's Thousand Voices Imprint.

Lily Webb has spent years trying to build a steady, predictable life, far from the hometown marred by tragedy and the sister she cannot seem to save from herself.

Jane has always been the brilliant sister: fierce, complicated, and drawn to the mysteries of the universe. But after their mother’s death, Jane’s gifts became entangled with addiction, pulling the sisters into a cycle of love, guilt, and heartbreak that neither can escape.

Lily has found comfort in a quiet marriage to a devoted scientist, one who opened her eyes to the beauty of the natural world and offered her safety and stability. But when her first love, a boy she lost under devastating circumstances, returns, Lily is forced to confront the past she thought she had buried.

As old wounds reopen, and her fragile bond with Jane grows ever more tenuous, Lily must navigate the tension between the life she’s built and the life she once imagined,

Spanning decades and rich with questions of faith, science, and the ties that hold us together, Laws of Love and Logic is a compelling, emotionally gripping novel about sisterhood, forgiveness, and the complicated nature of love.
Debra Curtis is a retired professor of cultural anthropology at Salve Regina University, where she specialized in gender and sexuality. This is her first novel. She is the mother of grown-up twin girls and lives in Rhode Island with her husband and her English bulldog, Harry, who is the star of much of her TikTok content.

✨ Our Romantasy Book Club just wrapped up its third meeting, and the momentum keeps growing! ✨
Thank you to everyone who joined us this month to discuss The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig.

What started as an idea to bring romantasy readers together has quickly become one of our favorite monthly traditions. Seeing new faces around the table each month, hearing different perspectives, sharing favorite characters and plot twists, and connecting over a shared love of books has been incredibly rewarding.

Our June discussion was full of thoughtful insights, lively conversation, and plenty of bookish excitement. We're so grateful to everyone who continues to make this community special.

Whether you've attended all three meetings or have been thinking about joining us for the first time, there's always a seat for you at the table.

The Thriller Book Club will meet on Thursday, July 9 at 7pm to discuss The Anniversary by Alex Finlay. Sign up at the link in our bio or the events page of our website.

Every Year He Comes For Them.

On one fateful night in 1992, the lives of two seventeen-year-olds are changed and intertwined forever. Quinn Riley, a boy from the wrong side of the tracks, is arrested after he innocently tries to break up a fight but ends up nearly killing someone. Jules Delaney, high school royalty, survives an attack by the elusive and terrifying May Day Killer—a serial predator who strikes every May 1st in midwestern small towns.

A year later, Jules is struggling with trauma and guilt, tormented by the question: Why was I spared? Quinn is newly released from juvenile detention and returns home to fresh heartbreak: the unsolved murder of his mother.

Over the next decade, their lives are revisited on a single day each year—May 1st. As secrets unravel and the paths of Quinn and Jules collide, two mysteries edge closer to the truth. All the while, the May Day Killer is still out there—and the clock is racing toward another May 1st.

The Anniversary is an utterly compelling story of the hunt for a serial killer. But it’s also a heartfelt—and heartrending—novel about fate, innocence lost, and two souls who find that sometimes being broken is the only way for the light to get in.

Twisty, high-concept, and emotional, the novel reaffirms Finlay as one of the leading thriller writers today.

From the beginning of American history, free speech has been crucial for the pursuit of justice and expansion of democracy. Join us as we welcome Author Christopher Finan in conversation with Dana Alison Levy. Your $19.07 ticket includes a copy of the book and tax. Each group must purchase one ticket, but you may also reserve 2 free companion tickets.

With sharp insight and page-turning storytelling, Finan demonstrates that the most effective antidote for the growth of hate speech, misinformation, political violence, and anti-democratic efforts by government officials is support for and cultivation of a free and robust marketplace of ideas.

Christopher M. Finan has been involved in the fight against censorship for over 40 years. He is the former executive director of the National Coalition Against Censorship and the former president of the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression. After working as a newspaper reporter, he received his Ph.D. in American History from Columbia University. He is the author of Drunks: The Story of Alcoholism and the Birth of Recovery, Alfred E. Smith: The Happy Warrior, and From the Palmer Raids to the PATRIOT Act: A History of the Fight for Free Speech in America, which won the American Library Association’s Eli M. Oboler Award for the best work on intellectual freedom published in 2006 and 2007.

Her books have been bestsellers, garnered multiple starred reviews, been named to Best Of lists, and are Junior Library Guild Selections.

When she’s not reading or writing, Dana is also co-lead of the Massachusetts chapter of Authors Against Book Bans, and part of the core team for her local Indivisible chapter. When she’s not doing any of that work, she’s usually petting a cat, preferably in another country.
