At the end of this month we will be moving to Charleston, South Carolina! As we prepare for this move we will be clearing out and downsizing our inventory. If you would like to purchase a kokedama or houseplant before our departure send us a message!

Simple, refined houseplants.

Kokedama •ko-ke-da-mah• is a Japanese gardening technique that originates from bonsai. This technique was created 500 years ago by Japanese artist who wanted to stay connected to the forest even though they could no longer live near it.

The plant is placed into a ball of soil, then covered in moss and secured with string, making it self contained and doing away with pots all together. The key idea is that the designs are 100% natural, in other words, they mimic the real environment in which the plants would naturally grow.

The art of kokedama ensures that no human-made element comes between the person and this piece of nature.

Meet the newest guy to join the Fearn family: Alocasia Macrorrhiza ‘Stingray’ 🌱

Alocasia Stingray has large, uniquely shaped leaves that resemble the wings and tail of its namesake. The distinctive, dappled coloring of the stem adds further interest.

These plants love humidity! You can either mist the plant to keep the humidity up or place it in a spot such as a kitchen or a bathroom as they will love the raised humidity levels.
