A 0.3oz faceGlove solves all 3! A few years ago, Outeru Gear founder, Kevin, was living in one of the coldest and snowiest regions of the world – the Teton Mountains near Jackson Hole, Wyoming, USA. While working in a ski shop to support his ski habit, he had countless conversations with coworkers and customers about

the problems with ski-masks. It seemed like everyone was looking for a better solution, but there was nothing available that worked as it should. So, Kevin set out to design "the world’s best face mask" – After hundreds of prototypes, countless tweaks and a few total redesigns – the Outeru “FaceGlove” was created. FaceGlove precisely covered the nose and cheeks while at the same time uncovering the mouth. A true minimalists solution, faceglove protected the parts of the face most sensitive to cold, frostbite, and sunburn – without creating goggle fog or sacrificing your ability to breathe. Kevin called his old college roommate, Josh, who had a background in business start-ups to give him a hand turning his product into a company. Josh instantly saw the value of Kevin’s design, and after a year of hard work perfecting manufacturing, writing business plans, and gaining support from friends, family, and some industry experts – Outeru Gear is ready to share FaceGlove with the world. 16 years ago today!
The faceGlove was conceived in the ski shop at Grand Targhee when I realized we didn’t sell face protection that actually worked.
We all needed a nose/cheekbone mask to integrate with our Buffs, so noses could be covered without blocking breathing.
Being the pre-GoPro era, this is the only film I have from my years there. Grateful for this footage to reflect on where it all started, my stoke for skiing, the moment I decided to save the noses of everyone in my favorite industry.
The faceGlove and OuterU have certainly come a long way!!
