Technology Training Volunteer Opportunity
The 4 NINE Place Is partnering with GECAC & AARP to offer free digital literacy help for adults. We are looking for a person to volunteer to become a tech trainer. If you are interested in supporting others to improve their technology skills, this could be the spot for you! No prior teaching or tech experience is necessary. After the training, you can offer drop in help sessions or classes at the 4 NINE Place Education Center at 103 Clay St on a schedule that works for you. We have been busy with community education this spring. Preventing falls and strengthening, disaster preparedness, avoiding financial scams and financial wellness. Thank you to the YMCA of Erie County, the Erie County Department of Health - Pennsylvania, Citizens Bank Harborcreek and the North East Welch Federal Credit Union for providing the speakers. Did you know? In 2025, we had 139 volunteers who provided a total of 21,414 hours of service. We carry things in from the donation dock, sort and display the merchandise, run the registers, clean the store, organize the medical equipment, maintain the FB page, coordinate education programs, distribute diapers and the senior food box, purchase coats and boots for the annual give away, operate the office, manage the finances, maintain the building & grounds and many, many other tasks that keep this non profit organization running smoothly and supporting the community. Volunteers come from North East, Greenfield, Harborcreek, Millcreek, Erie, Ripley and some drop in when they visit from their new distant homes. We are teenagers and the young at heart and all believe in the mission of "caring for our own". Don't worry, we will have the store in good order for you when we reopen on June 15!
