Old School Antiques and Such We started as a mobile antique store, using an old school bus to travel to antique shows in Michigan and Indiana. We still participate in antique shows too.

We now have a permanent location in a historic building in North Liberty, IN.

Here’s a peek of some of the new inventory I acquired on our travels last week. I’m excited to get it all sorted, priced, and on the shelves. (The giant turkey was kind of an impulse buy 😂, someone put a lot of work into him and I couldn’t leave him!)

In case anyone was wondering “what the heck is a King Midget?” ….

“The King Midget is a small microcar built in Athens, Ohio, from 1946 to 1970 by World War II pilots Claude Dry and Dale Orcutt. Known as the "world's lowest priced car", it weighed about 500 to 700 pounds, cost around $500, and reached top speeds of 35 to 55 mph.”

Every year the car club hosts a Jamboree, where these little cars invade a town and explore what the area has to offer for a few days. This year, for the 80th anniversary, we are back in the town where it all started, Athens, OH.

Just a reminder that we are closed this week. We will open back up Thursday, August 13.

Yesterday we had fun exploring the Heart of Ohio Antique Center, found some new, old stuff for the shop. Hoping to explore some more antique shops on our trip through Ohio. The remainder of our week we’ll be busy participating in King midget friends activities.

Old School Antiques and Such is proud to sponsor the St. Joseph County Horse and Pony 4H Club.

We are busy at the fair this week with our daughter and her horse, so we will not be open. Amelia and Rio earned Junior Showmanship Champion today!

Our next day open will be Thursday, July 16th.

Update: Today (7/3) I’ll be closing the shop at 4:30 instead of 5:00, so that I can watch my daughter participate in the St. Joe County fair’s opening parade. I hope everyone enjoys their Independence Day Celebrations this weekend! We will be open tomorrow 10:00 am to 3:00ish (depending on how long the parade traffic sticks around for.)
