The name Thick Madames was created during a 5th grade Thanksgiving lunch at Nordale Elementary when two CHONKY ten year olds stuffed their faces with delicious food and proudly sang about being “thick but cute!" As the years passed, more girls joined their little crew of Thick Madames, and together they grew up sharing wild adventures, tears, fights, and the kinds of stories that only come from friendships strong enough to withstand these past 25 plus years.
In Alaska, finding your people matters. There is strength in numbers during the dark days and it is important to have others to help lift you up with honesty, humor, and love. The Thick Madames represent that kind of friendship. They hope to become more than a small body oil business, growing into a collection of Alaskan women who do more than simply be beautifully thick with soft, glowy skin. The dream is to eventually give back to the community and to be a source of connection for anyone who needs friendship when the long, freezing nights grow a little too dark to face alone. ..And smelling fabulous in the process.
