As I mentioned before. This is a 7/8 size Violin I made for my fiancé. She just loves it and can’t stop playing it.

As a Luthier and Violin maker in the field for over 32 years I realize that not all musicians who play full-size Violins are completely satisfied with the size of the instrument and length of the string. Also, not many 7/8 size Violins made currently that sound good are available. That is one of the reasons why I started making a line of 7/8 size Violins in my shop.
Sure, the story is interesting and funny. My Client asked me to order one, set it up and have it on a trial basis. In the end, she loved it and purchased it. Later on she became my fiancé.
To make the story short, musicians have to know more about the existence of 7/8 size Violin.
I created from scratch a design of my 7/8 size Violin and I am very proud of it! It delivers a lot of power, projection, and wonderful deep dark sound! Currently Violin that I made specifically for my fiancé is in the final stage of varnishing and it received the final clear coat of oil varnish. Can’t wait to hear how it’s going to sound even though I set it up and played it in white before varnishing it.
What are your thoughts?
Who should look for one? If you could find a 7/8 size handmade violin that sounds as powerful or more than a full size violin, would you prefer playing it and would it make you feel more comfortable? I am finding that more violinists are interested in having one but they are hard to find and there is a limited selection of quality handmade ones in the market.

Visiting Boston and enjoying it!!!

Yes!!! Finally I am visiting Boston after 6 years.
I will be there just for 4-5 months and mainly to spend time with my family and grandkids, who I adore!

While I’m there I will offer my services in repairs, Re-touching, bow Re-hair, tonal adjustment, etc., to people who still remember me and to those who don’t know me.

Well, driving to and from Fort Myers is not perfect, but it works for me and my wife. Working in near by buildings is convenient. So far I cannot complain about repairs I get.
Interesting enough I didn’t hear from Naples Philharmonic for a while. I did some work for musicians and hopefully will get more recognition amongst them.
So far so good. I am happy.
