A lot of customers are interested in threading their HK and clone, MP5 barrels. Unfortunately it is a difficult task to remove a MP5 barrel from the upper to complete this operation. To remedy this situation, Gary’s Bunker has manufactured precision drive arbors to allow single point threading concentric to the bore diameter on these fi****ms WITHOUT removing the barrel. If you have a Beretta PMX and are building a form 1 SBR you may or may not know the ATF compliant engraving requirements. On the Beretta PMX the receiver is the inner STEEL tubing of the upper assembly NOT the polymer overlay. Unfortunately Beretta did not provide ample real estate to perform the NFA engraving.

Gary’s Bunker has built specialized fixturing to accurately mill a “window” in the polymer overlay to expose enough real estate on the inner steel receiver to satisfy your NFA engraving needs. Contact us for more details.

A beautiful Beretta 38a registered DEWAT came in the shop for REWAT. This is the nicest condition Beretta 38a I’ve come across in 45+ years of business, (it appears unissued). We finished her up today and she runs as good as she looks.

First trial fitment of a 3D printed MP40 barrel rest. These were printed with a graphite filled polycarbonate material.

A customer contacted us for subcontracted work on a SBS build on a modern 1878 Coach Gun. The specifications were to shorten the barrel to 11.5” and replace the front bead sight. Shortening a side by side shotgun barrel is not as simple as cutting it down to length. What is often overlooked is the “void” between the barrels and upper and lower ribs once the barrels are cut. To remedy this situation, a custom machined “filler” needs to be fabricated and soft solder in place without separating the existing barrel joints or damaging the finish. The barrels are then “squared up with the milling machine, deburred, and the end rust blued. The center rib was drilled and tapped 3-56 for a brass bead sight. The inside of the receiver was also NFA engraved, (not shown), in compliance with the customer’s form 1.

Looking for precious barrel threading? Gary’s Bunker offers single point, lathe turned barrel threading cut concentric to the bore diameter. The concentricity assures alignment of your suppressors or muzzle devices which is instrumental in achievement point of aim consistency. Part of the process includes cutting barrel length to customer preference, target crown and optional thread protector.

This Maxim 08/15 booster came into the shop for refurbishment. Badly pitted and rusted we were able get it both functional and quite presentable. Lathe work, belt sanding, 15 hours in the acid bath and rust blue….. here’s the story in pictures:
