Lonnie Hembree never made it back to the store to change his calendar. It will forever remain February 2026 at his workbench, marking the last month of his normal life. Brian Sawyer will get free advertising as a result.
I am so thankful for the outpouring of kind words from so many people the last several months. But I will forever be thankful I got to call him, dad.

My dad, Lonnie Hembree, friend to all, lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 1st. He has been my priority over everything else, the last 4 months and I will never be sorry for doing so. I will forever be grateful for dad, his love, his time, but especially the time spent with him while ill.

Arrangements are pending at Jewell- Rittman funeral home in Columbus, where he resided. So many of you come to know him in the last several years at the store and brought him a great deal of laughter and joy. So thank you for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers as well as all the love at the recent benefit held by Rick and Sheri Leanard, during the last few months.
I will be returning to the store in coming weeks to reopen.

I am sorry for any inconvenience it has caused anyone trying to contact the store unsuccessfully, but I am still focused mainly on my dad's comfort and well being. For those who know him, he has been in and out of the hospital heavily the last couple of weeks and I have missed a lot of calls. I will get back to you, as soon as I possibly can. Thank you, to everyone praying for him and asking for updates. He is loved by many.

Happy Easter from Nashville Vintage and Repair!

I'd like to thank everyone who mailed get well cards to Dad. Though he has a fight ahead of him, he still has good spirits and has enjoyed reading each one. And thank you to everyone who signed his card from the Joe's Pizza Jam last week. His exact words was, "Well everyone in North Vernon must have signed this one!", with a smile on his face. We are both grateful for all the offers to help, all the prayers and kindness everyone has extended. You really are the greatest!
