Our new Wilkes Rescue Group patches are in, along with the Wilkes County Fall Trio - featuring Stone Mt, Moravian Falls, and the Mighty Yadkin River!

We’re getting everything ready for The Cap Bar™ presented by Patches On Caps and hosted by Tripp's Mercantile during Brushy Mountain Apple Festival weekend. Every October purchase helps support WRG, and we can’t wait to share these with everyone and get the month started off on the right paw!

Huge thank‑you to Tripp's Mercantile for trusting us with their brand.
They handed us their logo, their palette, and the creative freedom to bring it to life — and these woven patches delivered exactly what we hoped for.

Woven patches + appliqué are hands‑down the best choice when your logo has tiny details or small text. Traditional embroidered patches just can’t hit this level of clarity.

The colors pop, the details stay crisp, and the final product feels premium every time.

🇲🇽 Ojo de Dios: Stories, Craft & Mexico

Join us Saturday, September 26 from 12–1 PM for a special afternoon with Doren and Delight Tripp as they share stories from the years Mexico was home.

Doren grew up in Mexico, and Delight lived there for nearly 24 years. Together, they served communities throughout Mexico, including medical missions to remote villages. Now, they’re bringing some of those memories, stories, and traditions to Tripp’s Mercantile.

We’ll make an Ojo de Dios, enjoy a sweet treat, and hear stories about their adventures, experiences, and the people they met along the way.

Saturday, Sept. 26 | 12–1 PM
$5 per person

Can’t make it September 26? We’ll have another Story Time with Doren & Delight on November 14 from 12–1 PM! Come hear more about their adventures and experiences in Mexico, enjoy a sweet treat, and spend an hour hearing stories from a very special part of their lives.

🎨 Meet Sheila Brock, a phenomenal local artist whose work captures the beauty, character, and history of the Appalachian Mountains.

Sheila has chosen to begin a beautiful journey of taking what she sees and feels throughout Wilkes County and the surrounding Appalachian region and translating those moments onto canvas. Her artwork is both realistic and intentional, showcasing her incredible talent through everything from small, intimate pieces to large-scale canvases.

Each painting seems to tell its own story — highlighting a piece of local history, a familiar Appalachian landscape, or one of the simple, beautiful details that make this place we call home so special.

We’re proud to have Sheila’s artwork at Tripp’s Mercantile in downtown North Wilkesboro, and we’d love for you to stop by, take a look, and experience her work for yourself.

What a wonderful night at the Wilkes Entrepreneur Network Pitch Event at Anchor Coffee Co , in partnership between WCC Small Business Center, Wilkes EDC, and Anchor Coffee and sponsored by !

It was great seeing so many incredible entrepreneurs and community leaders come together to share ideas, encourage one another, and celebrate entrepreneurship in Wilkes County.

A huge thank-you to Laurie Brintle-Jarvis with Wilkes Community College Small Business Center, Francisco Martinez with the Economic Development Corporation, and our judges Gary Daemer of Infusion Points, Andy Robertson of First National Bank, and Greg Brady of Anchor Coffee for helping make the night such a success!

And we couldn’t be more excited for one of our very own Tripp’s Mercantile entrepreneurs, Trey Bates of Patches on Caps, who took home the Judges’ Choice Award! 🎉

We are SO proud of Trey and excited to celebrate this well-deserved recognition with him!

What a fun collaboration this is going to be! Please join us in giving a HUGE welcome to one of our newest local entrepreneurs, Haley, owner of Bread Bandit Sourdough Bakery, right here in Millers Creek, North Carolina!
