A few weeks ago I was honored to be elected to the Owatonna high school Music Hall of Fame, my alma mater. I was touched by Lisa Revier's kind and heartfelt introduction, and also by my high school orchestra conductor Arnold Krueger's memories of that time. I am very grateful to the Owatonna schools for all of the learning, nurturing and support they gave me and the opportunities that has afforded me.

Carving a cello scroll. There is a total 5 feet of mind numbingly meticulous bevel to cut. No wonder my eyes won't stop twitching.

"Flames of pure gold" was the description John Dilworth used to describe this late period Brothers Amati violin. It has been in the shop for a new set-up and adjusting. What a pleasure it has been to get to know this violin over the past few weeks! I have never in my life seen a more beautiful violin back.
