Judy was something we each dreamed about long before she had a name, long before she had shelves, long before she had a door for people to walk through.
And then, over the last year, Judy became real.
Not just real, but something more than we ever planned.
Judy has become her own living, breathing, growing entity. A place shaped just as much by you in the community as by us. A place that has taken on a life of her own in the most beautiful way.
We have watched her become a space for secondhand treasures, generous donations, rescue work, round-ups, community support, and all the wonderfully strange and practical things that end up on our shelves. But more than that, we have watched her become a place where people feel connected — to each other, to purpose, and to something bigger than a transaction.
And we know this is only the beginning.
The need Judy was built to serve is not going away. Not for our two-legged community, and not for our four-legged one either. If anything, it is growing. And that is why Judy has to keep growing too.
We are feeling deeply grateful today. A little sentimental. A little in awe of what has been built together. Today, we are spending the day as a team celebrating what this really means.
It is strange to be closed right before such a big milestone, but it also feels right for us. This pause feels right for us because we are not big retail focused on profit and results — we focus on how best to serve.
Thank you for being part of her first year. For believing in her. For shaping her. For giving her life.
We cannot wait to celebrate with you when we reopen August 7th and 8th. 7 Days!!!
