Congratulations Dr. Jayasena! Our community is lucky to have you!

🎉 Celebrating 25 Years of Caring for Our Community!

We're proud to recognize Dr. Rohan Jayasena — better known & loved by many as "Dr. Jay" — on his 25th anniversary of providing exceptional care at UHS Pediatrics in Sidney. For a quarter century, Dr. Jay has been a trusted physician, compassionate caregiver & familiar face to generations of families throughout our community. He is one of the many people who make UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital such a special place.

To mark this milestone, Dr. Jay celebrated in a way that reflects his generosity & love for his patients — on Tuesday, July 7, he personally treated every child visiting the Sidney office to ice cream from Lickety Split! 🍦❤️

Thank you, Dr. Jayasena, for your commitment to excellence and for making a difference in the lives of so many children & families over the years. We appreciate you and all that you do!

Last week, the Auxiliary was invited to cut the ribbon on the brand new Gift Shop at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital! What an impressive upgrade. We welcome employees, patients, and families to come by and see the new space.

Congratulations to our hospital the grand opening of your Orthopedic Suite and Broad Street Entrance, you are truly a hallmark of our community! 🩷💚

On Wednesday, we hosted our Annual Volunteer luncheon, where we recognized and gave thanks for the wonderful volunteers that contribute their time and talents to UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital.

The work that they do does not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for our volunteers! Click through the images in this post to see names of our volunteers and their donated hours.

The Auxiliary also made our annual donation to the hospital, in the amount of $50,000! This donation will go towards the purchase of a Fetal Monitor and 5 Fetal Monitor Carts, 3 Delivery Tables, New Waiting Room Furniture for Maternity, and a Bariatric Recliner for Women's Health.

This donation was made possible by fundraisers held over the last year, the Pink Door Thrift Shop and hospital Gift Shop, and the many generous community supporters and friends of the Auxiliary. Thank you for your continued support and generosity!

A big thank you to The Canasawacta Country Club for hosting a delicious lunch in a beautiful setting, Pires Flower Baskets for our potted plants, and to Martha and Herb Ryan for providing rousing entertainment!

Chenango Memorial Hospital Auxiliary mourns the recent passing of Lauren Howell, a treasured past board member, who passed away last week. Lauren was our hospitality chair for several years and always did a wonderful job coordinating our employee appreciation day and annual volunteer luncheon. She was also on the Festival of trees committee and was always willing to lend a helping hand to any of our ongoing initiatives. She loved greeting families at our annual Breakfast with Santa, and she was the best of the best when it came to volunteers. We will miss her infectious laugh, beautiful smile, cheerful optimism and her enthusiasm for everything good in our community. CMH auxiliary board extends our deepest sympathies to Lauren and her family.

What a great night we had at Trivia Night!

This year’s event brought 15 teams of players all vying to compete for top place using random knowledge to answer fun questions. Thank you to all of the teams that came out to play! We would like to extend a BIG thank you to our prize sponsors: Ninas, Dickey’s BBQ, Park Place, and Scott Osborne of McCraith Beverages.
