We are a local family & youth oriented bike, ski, & snowboard shop. For us, riding is a passion & individual expression focused around enjoyment, progression, & health. Through hard work & honesty, it is an absolute pleasure to work with what we are passionate about & have the opportunity to share this with you. We are here to provide a welcoming atmosphere & service for all! HISTORY

78, Roger Goodwin moved on from his first retail shop, Goody’s, to start Old Town Sports in Novato, California. With the help of his wife, Theresa Goodwin, & the Novato Community, they built Old Town Sports’ business from the ground up. Roger's passion for outdoor sports & providing for the community took the shop from winter sports, running, skateboarding, windsurfing, & tennis, to sports team apparel & Novato Parks & Recreation sports jerseys. In 1994, Roger made the move to add bike service & sales to Old Town & it's been progressing ever since. In 2010 Roger & long-time employee Colby Larson started a partnership to run the shop together. Late 2013, Colby decided to move on to photography, but the shop will always remain a part of him. Today, the shop is run by Roger & manager, Justin Schlegal.

The Legacy Continues.
Nearly 50 years ago, Roger Goodman started Old Town Sports with more than a sporting goods store in mind. He taught local high school students how to become bike mechanics, ski fitters, and how to work with their hands, learn a skill, and take pride in doing a job right.
Today, that tradition continues.
Here’s Dylan teaching the next group of young people how to set up and work on snowboards—passing along what he’s learned to the generation coming behind him.
From 1978 to 2026, some things haven’t changed. We’re still teaching. Still learning. Still giving young people an opportunity. Still serving our hometown.
This is what community looks like.

Favorite class Lunch! He says that with a big 😃 , favorite trail ride Mt. Burdell. 
Dylan has a big old smile and we love it. We ❤️ it when his gym buddies come in and talk about how hard he works out! Dylan brings that can do attitude to work on your bikes and this community every day @ OTS!
Dylan's will be an incredible firefighter once he's through the Academy he definitely is great @ OTS!
so proud of the the way he handles bikes ,works with the new employees plus GREAT with our Guest!. He gets five stars come in and sAy Hey and give Dylan a Hi-5!
