This is more than a cartoon drawing.

It’s an accomplishment.

It’s inspired by a real occurrence witnessed in 2025 by marine biologists off the coast of New Zealand.

It’s the product of one person wearing three different hats.

It’s my retirement plan.

I want to sell enough stickers so I can sit on a beach, sip a cocktail, and be inspired by more wildlife in nature.

While still maintaining a safe distance from the ocean because it’s trying to kill me.

Every long box tells you something about who you used to be.

We ran a block sale a couple weeks back. Comics, decades of them, out on tables in the sun. What was supposed to be a simple sell-off turned into something closer to an excavation.

Every design has a story.

It could be story spanning decades from a childhood idea.

It could be something dreamed up in the shower that morning.

Mine’s got a story, too.

Cosmic Journey wasn’t created just to be another print-on-demand t-shirt. It grew out of my love of classic comic books, retro science fiction, and the idea that symbols belong to whoever needs them.

In this my blog, I talk about where the design came from, what I was trying to accomplish, and what I’ve learned trying to bring it into the world.
