Garage Sale Find Rescue! 🛠️🎮

A customer brought in a Wii they picked up at a garage sale. They tried plugging it in for the first time, only to find out the disc drive was dead!
While getting it back to life, I ran into a fun scenario:
the replacement drive mechanism supports GameCube playback, but this specific console model wasn't originally set up for it. Since I have a spare GameCube-compatible motherboard sitting right here on the bench—and there's no old save data on this console to worry about—I can easily turn this into a dual-system powerhouse.
What would you do?

Option A: Surprise them with the full GameCube upgrade!

Option B: Keep it strictly to the stock repair.

Happy 25th Birthday to the Nintendo GameCube!

Full disclosure: When this system first launched back in 2001, I thought Nintendo had completely lost their minds. Growing up on the NES and Super NES, seeing a bright purple box with a carrying handle felt like a huge design misstep!

Fast forward 25 years, and my perspective has completely changed. Nintendo really nailed the ease of use with this system—especially under the hood. From a maintenance standpoint, everything is just so simple, clean, and intuitive. Nintendo really understood how to keep things straightforward.

After taking them apart, restoring them, and getting to experience the incredible library of games, I’ve gained a huge appreciation for what a great machine it truly is.

We hit the pavement and scrolled the feeds this weekend, and local yard sales + Facebook Marketplace DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Check out this awesome haul of classic gaming history fresh for the workbench! 🙌

🎮 SOLID RETRO GAMING HAUL! 🕹️✨

Before heading out on our out-of-town trip yesterday, I managed to procure an awesome lineup of handheld consoles!
📱💨 We made it into Ohio last night and decided to take a little excursion this morning over to Traders World Flea Market in Lebanon, OH! 🛒🛍️

We ended up scoring big—picking up a PS3, a classic PS1, a great stack of retro games, and controllers! 👾💿
Most of these fresh finds will be heading straight to our booth in the near future (though I might just have to hold onto a select few for my personal collection! 😉).
