Four years chasing a crazy dream. What dream exactly? My favorote childhood soda in my store. When we bought Popsies it was the one thing I knew I wanted to carry. I wanted it so bad that 2 years ago I loaded my family in to my truck and drove to California.

I spent 4 days and $2300 (just on the soda) stopping at every grocery store, gas station, and bargin store I could, buying up every case they had. I filled my truck bed and the front and back floor boards of my truck just to get Cactus Cooler to Washington State.

Last week, my wife and business partner achieved what I could not, Cactus Cooler was delivered to be sold in our store. Whidbey Island now has my and Fred Flinstone's favorite drink.

It takes me back to fishing with my dad. Stopping at the gas station before the sun came up on our way out to Lake Siskiyou. He would get coffee and beer for later. I would get 2 bottles of Cactus Cooler and a donut.

Is anyone else a Cactus Cooler fan? .

From all of us at Popsies to all of you. Happy 4th of July and Happy 250th Birthday America, you don't look a day over 100. 😂

We are excited to be part of the celebration. The store will be open but we will also be at the park with all your favorite sweet treats. Stop by amd say hi, we can't wait to see everyone.

Over the last four years, Popsies has been more than a candy store to us. We've been honored to host community events, support local organizations, and create a place where our community can make memories together.

Consumer habits have changed over the last several years. Many of the products we carry are now available through larger retailers and online marketplaces, which has created new challenges for small specialty stores like ours.

You may have noticed Dorothy has not been out this year. It's because we have had to take full time jobs off the island to keep Popsies and our family afloat. We just don't have the time to run the truck.

So we are at a decision point and like every major decision we have made, we want to include and consider the feedback of our community.

Before we determine our next steps, we want to hear from our community

Would you visit more often if Popsies moved?
What location would you support?
What products do you buy most?
What keeps you from visiting?
Would you support a seasonal model?
Would you support more events, food trucks, catering, fundraising, etc.?
What change or addition would incentivize you to shop with Popsies more.

As a family we love this business and the community that has supported us these last 4 years. We want to see it continue. We will review all feedback over the next several weeks before making any decisions about the future of Popsies.
