As the holiday countdown wraps up, a quick note: Warehouse 55 in Chicago will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We’ll be back and ready to welcome you on December 26, and my space will be 20% off starting that day. I just finished a full restock before heading out of town with family for a few days.

Since we’re traveling, we celebrated Christmas a bit early this year—and it was a truly special one. Feeling incredibly grateful and very blessed.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who showed up and shopped small this season. During a time that can feel uncertain, your support meant everything. Sending you so much love and wishing you a safe, cozy, and joyful holiday with the people you hold close.

It’s deceiving—the light pouring in through the front door makes you think it’s a bright, sunny day, but Chicago is definitely under a thick veil of clouds… and maybe more snow on the way. ❄️ One weekend into meteorological winter and I’m already dreaming of summer.

My tree went up early this year, but the rest of the house took its sweet time. I finally worked on the decorations this week, so here are a few little snippets.

And can someone please explain to me how my furniture is perfectly level on the horizontal lines, yet everything sitting on top of it looks completely askew? What physics is this?! Big-time crooked vibes and I swear I didn’t bump anything.

In Lucca (the very first market we visited in Italy and a previous post) — that lovely walled city where every corner hums with history — I found these Stations of the Cross signs. The stalls spilled across four piazzas, layered with centuries of stories.

These wooden signs once hung in a church above the Stations of the Cross. There are fourteen in the full set, but I found just four — each one worn, sacred, and quietly powerful in its imperfection.

They’ve now found their way to my booth at Warehouse 55, and are also linked in my stories if you’d like to bring them home.

This marbled keepsake box, for example, was created by female artisans in India — covered inside and out with hand-marbled paper and finished with a tiny wooden k**b made from reclaimed scraps in their workshop.

These vintage Italian La Vera Sibilla Italiana cards date to the 1960s and were once used for divination and fortune-telling.
Printed by Edizioni Masenghini in Bergamo, Italy, they follow the elegant Sibilla tradition that began in the early 1900s — rich with symbolism, emotion, and beautifully illustrated vignettes of daily life.

The card on top, Amore, shows Cupid mid-flight, bow drawn and ready to strike — a reminder that love often appears when we least expect it.

I found this deck in the Milan market and instantly fell for the saturated colors, Italian captions, and whimsical details. The bright blue backs feature the classic “Sibyl’s head” surrounded by stars on the back — a celestial muse representing intuition and insight, and letting me know these weren’t playing cards but fortune telling cards.

I’ve framed six of them so far (the graphics are that good!), though photographing them behind glass has been its own challenge. Whether read for meaning or simply admired as design, I think they are irresistible

I’ll be taking these to my space this week.

I’ve framed Bambino (new beginnings), Malinconia (hope after challenges), Giovine Fanciulla (youthful sensibilities) and a few others. $38/each.

One week ago today, I stepped out of my Milan hotel and into my favorite Italian market. It was the bookend to an incredible adventure with — and although my suitcases were already bursting, I was determined to make room for a few more treasures. (Let’s be honest… I knew I’d be repacking before the day was done.)

In this photo, I’m holding my first find of the morning — a tiny “lover’s eye” artwork that instantly caught my heart. My friend and fellow traveler, , is holding a few of her own little paintings too. We were so early to the market that the vendor had stepped away for coffee, but there was no way we were leaving these behind… so we waited.

Maybe it was meant to be — I think this one was supposed to stay with me. ❤️🇮🇹
