We had some VERY special visitors at Willow Ridge today! A local homeschool mama and her kiddos hatched monarchs and chose our gardens as the place to release them. How freaking cool is that?! Moments like this are exactly why we love being part of this community.

Nope, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you.

That fan-shaped “mermaid tail” is a crested Euphorbia that’s been grafted onto rootstock, creating one seriously unusual houseplant. Julia is giving us a closer look at this weird little botanical creation—and we are OBSESSED with how strange it is.

This probably isn’t what comes to mind when you hear “boxwood.”

‘Unraveled’ Weeping Boxwood has long, cascading branches that give it a loose, almost whimsical shape instead of the neat little hedge we usually associate with boxwoods. It’s evergreen, too, so that interesting structure sticks around year-round. A great reminder that not every boxwood wants to be a square.

When you hear “magnolia,” you probably picture the huge Southern Magnolia, but Sweetbay Magnolia is a little different.

It has a lighter, more graceful look with creamy white, lemon-scented flowers and leaves with silvery undersides that flash when the breeze moves through them. It’s also a native tree that naturally handles wetter soils better than many landscape trees.
