This Eastern Roman Empire gold coin was struck during the reign of Emperor Theodosius II (AD 402-450) and has survived over 1,600 years of history.

Fun Fact: The Solidus was one of the most trusted currencies of the ancient world and remained a standard of wealth for centuries.
