Thanks to Sherrie at Modern Mannequin I now have an arm for the Tracy Leigh mannequin. In our Rootstein sales catalog she is missing and arm an hand. Now she is just missing a hand.

Best of all you get to make me an offer for her and if it is a reasonable offer I will accept it. She does not have a stand or bum rod

Spotted at the Alameda Antiques Faire 👀

Of course, surrounded by acres of antiques and vintage treasures, this is the display that caught my eye.

Such a creative use of dress forms! Instead of displaying clothing, these forms became the backdrop for an incredible collection of vintage jewelry and accessories. Even the heads got in on the action. 🦋

I’m always inspired when I see dress forms used in unexpected ways. They aren’t just for sewing or displaying clothes. They can become jewelry displays, holiday décor, art installations and all kinds of creative projects.

FREE SHIPPING ON ROOTSTEIN MANNEQUINS ENDS SEPTEMBER 10

In the last 30 days, we’ve shipped 41 Adel Rootstein mannequins to collectors around the country. Unfortunately, five arrived damaged in transit.

We’ve continued to improve our packing, but apparently FedEx sees a FRAGILE sticker on a very large box as more of a suggestion than an instruction. 😩

So we’ve changed the way we ship Rootsteins.

Instead of packing the entire mannequin in one box, we are now shipping most of them in two boxes: the torso in one, and the legs and arms in another. It significantly increases our shipping costs, but it dramatically reduces the chance of these increasingly hard-to-find mannequins being damaged in transit.

And for us, protecting the mannequin is more important than protecting the free-shipping promotion.

So September 10 is the last day for free shipping.

We have approximately 30 Rootstein mannequins remaining, so if you’ve been watching the catalog and waiting to make your move, this is the week.

Rootstein collectors, I need your help!

I’m back in town and working my way through the Rootstein mannequins that appeared in my sales catalog without prices because they needed a little extra attention before I could list them for sale.

This couple is one example.

The hands on the male are not the hands shown in the original Rootstein catalog, but they are the hands that came with him. We tried swapping them with hands from other Rootstein mannequins, but nothing looked quite right.

So instead of fighting the pose, we decided to work with it. 😄

We positioned him four different ways to interact with his female companion, and now I want YOU to be the visual merchandiser.

Which pose works best: 1, 2, 3 or 4?

The winning pose will be the one I use when I photograph them for the updated sales catalog and finally give them a price.

And I’ve made one other decision: these two are staying together. I’m selling them as a set. Some mannequin couples just shouldn’t be broken up. ❤️
