Izzy’s been at it again — and this one’s staying in the fridge all week.

Fresh lemon balm and peppermint from the garden, goji berries from the shop, steeped overnight and poured over ice. That’s it. That’s summer.

Lemon balm and peppermint are actually from the same plant family — you can see it in the leaf shape, and you can taste it in what they do. Both cooling, both traditionally loved as digestive allies, both made for the kind of hot day where your whole body just wants to exhale. Lemon balm also has a long history of being reached for when the mood needs a little steadying.

The goji berries steep in overnight, lending a gentle sweetness and all those antioxidants along with it.

To make it:
Bruise your herbs and pack into a mason jar. Pour over boiling water, let steep, then strain. Add goji berries and refrigerate overnight. Serve cold over ice. Keeps up to a week.

We carry both the dried herbs and the seeds if you want to grow your own. 🌿

If you live in California, you already know what these months 🔥 feel like.

Hot. Dry. The air goes heavy.

Izzy’s sharing two plants we keep reaching for this time of year — Sea Moss🌊 for deep moisture (it works from the inside out — smoothies, skin, both work beautifully) and Mullein🌱, long loved in herbal circles for lung support on the smoky days.

Both in the shop. Both on the shelf right now. 🌿

There’s a version of you that lives below the neck. The one that wants to dance before it wants to talk about it, move before it thinks about it. This is the drink we make for that part of you. 🌙

• Sexy Hot Chocolate• is cacao and rose 🌹 and a pinch of mischief 😈, softened into something you can actually drink.
Blue Lily for dreaminess,
Damiana: for a subtle elation and softening
Muira Puama & Catuaba: for warm activation
Maca: for that low, steady kind of vitality, and vanilla esk yum 😋.
— herbs long reached for in traditions that understood the body wants to be invited, not instructed.

How we make it: 🍫
• Heaping tbsp of Sexy Hot Chocolate +
• 6–8oz milk of your choice (we used almond).
• Heat and froth together, or throw both straight in the frother and let it do everything at once.
• Wiz until smooth — no powder clumps hiding at the bottom.
Taste before you sweeten. Ours didn’t need a drop of honey, but yours might.

PRO TIP: One thing that matters more than people think: get your powder-to-milk ratio right ✨. Too thin and you lose the point. Scale both up together if you’re making it for two — and honestly, you probably are. 👀

BEST FOR OCCASIONS: Sip it before you go out. Share it with someone you trust with your softness and sensuality. Or just have it on a Tuesday when your mind needs an invitation back into your body. Nothing dramatic — just a little lift, a little loosening, the kind of exhale that shows up in your shoulders before you notice it in your head.

Tastes: perfectly delicious, with notes of rose and lotus… sooooo freakinnn yuuuummmmmmm!

Save and share with whoever gets the second cup. ☕

She’s been growing along every country road since before anyone thought to sell her.

Queen Anne’s Lace — Daucus carota, wild carrot, the original before we domesticated her into something more cooperative and orange. You’ve driven past thousands of them. That white lacy head, sometimes with a single dark floret at the centre — though not always, and not something to rely on for ID. The whole plant smells faintly of carrot if you crush a leaf. That’s the one you can trust.

We don’t carry her on our shelves — but she’s part of why we do what we do. This is what plant literacy looks like before it becomes a product: learning to read the roadside, knowing what’s been growing quietly in plain sight. There is a wealth of beauty, and plant medicine all around us outside, all you need is some curiosity, some plant id books, and call that Herbie friend that’s always picking up plants in strange places to begin your learning journey, and to open your eyes to the abundance that lies all around us.

One important note if you’re foraging: Queen Anne’s Lace has a dangerous lookalike in Poison Hemlock (Conium maculatum), which also grows roadside and can look similar at a glance. Learn to tell them apart before you touch either — hairy stems vs. smooth purple-blotched stems, the carrot smell test, habitat differences. This is exactly why plant knowledge matters. The land is generous, but she asks that you pay attention. Make sure you always do your research before picking and consuming anything.
What grows wild near you that most people walk straight past?

Fresh peony season is fading. Ours is just getting started.

Our whole dried Peony flowers unfurl slowly in hot water, opening into a delicate floral cup that feels as beautiful to watch as it is to drink.
Traditionally appreciated as a gentle, cooling herb with a graceful, softening calming quality. The Peony flower is more delicate in its botanical affects, than strong medicinal herb.
Lovely for an afternoon pause, evening wind-down, or steeped cold into a summer iced tea.

Mixes beautifully with the following herbs for an iced summer refresher:
• Tulsi
• Lemon Balm
• Peppermint
• Rose

Now in the apothecary: whole dried Peony flowers in a 30g jar.
