String Skin & Breath creates contemporary chamber music rooted in global traditions, blending ancient musical languages with modern expression. Drawing from Latin and North African modes, Ethio-jazz, desert blues, and global folk traditions, the ensemble weaves hypnotic rhythms, spacious improvisation, and rich acoustic textures into immersive performances that feel both timeless and new.

Oakland-based singer and songwriter Jhoi creates music that feels like a masterclass in emotional transparency. Melding the rich Black American traditions of R&B, Soul, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Gospel, her sound is both deeply rooted and entirely singular. As a vocal stylist, Jhoi navigates her songs with her distinct voiceโ€”a sound she describes as a "raspy sweetness floating on a river of chocolate waves."
Jhoiโ€™s songwriting explores the complex philosophies of love, human connection, and personal evolution. Her latest release, "Late Bloomer" EP, captures the journey of timing, self-discovery and artistic emergence. It stands as a powerful testament to finding your voice exactly when you are meant to.
