Horses 101 We have a rescue dog named Sugar Plum and two failed barn cats named Cutie Pie and Gingersnap. The horse that Marilyn was able to save after her traumatic brain injury is Skippy and our ex-barrel horses' names is Ryder. We recently started our Alpaca Farm business. We sell alpaca fiber, alpaca fertilizer tea, schedule educational and self-care farm tours, offer workshops. Interactive family photo sessions available with animals. Education and experiential. We provide a sanctuary space for humans and animals. Property is right off the Greenway with 110 miles of trails. RV hook up available for rent with optional horse board. We have seen miracles happen in rescue work. Now putting this out there. Shy Ronnie has an adoptive family. After two years! But they are in Chicago. Ronnie is in Florida. How to get him safely home? Pilots N Paws???

Weird question you guys... does anybody have a connection with a pilot or organization that helps with transporting animals to approved adoptive homes out of state? Our sweet Shy Ronnie has been hanging out at Purrs And Pages Ocala, looking for his forever family. Well... IT HAS HAPPENED FOR HIM! His people found him while they were on vacation in Florida and they could not get him out of their minds! They have patiently waited while we navigated the application/approval process remotely and the time has come to make arrangements for Shy Ronnie to GO HOME to Chicago!

We have, in the past, allowed for out of state adoptions. With dogs it has made sense to use transport legs by highway. With cats, it has made more sense to fly them as carry-on with a person. The cost of this is turning out to be prohibitive and we are hoping that our village can help us root out a solution.

Since we moved in we have been battling two things… our driveway and run off on the drive through our farm. Blessed our we to have neighbors that are willing and able to help us out. It’s the time. The equipment. The know how and the kindness that are huge blessings. Truly remarkable to have a community of amazing people that will lend a hand. We try to pay it forward. I will always say we live in the best community ever.
