One of the best parts about running a bakery is the excuse to make (and eat) delicious bread and pastries. So when one of our lovely customers ordered a Double Chocolate Sourdough Boule this afternoon, it was obviously one of those opportunities.

Pictured here with sweet, extra creamy Danish Creamery European-style butter and small-batch sour cherry preserves from American Spoon, this slice of rich chocolate studded sourdough was reminiscent of a slightly less indulgent Black Forest Cake.

Definitely worthy of seconds!

And to think, I would’ve never got to experience this without y’all!

I may not have the best technical skills, but when you order a custom cake with us Kat’s Scratch Bakery, the very first step we take is sitting down for a consultation. Whether it be in person, over a video call, or even just via a simple form sent by email, this step is crucial to our custom cake process. And because words alone cannot always paint a picture vivid enough to come alive in the minds of our clients, that conversation will always end with a mock-up of the cake we are imagining.
You may receive a quick sketch jotted down during our meeting, or a little more in depth graphic like the one shown here (this mock-up was for a client a couple years ago whose grandson loved Mario and Sonic, so we went with a mashup of both iconic characters along with gold token and ring themed cupcakes.)
This is how we help make your ideas a reality…and a pretty sweet one at that! 😉

(Not to mention, this way we avoid those wretched AI cake fantasies floating around)

Did you know our 🍪 with our Just Baked* guarantee, will always arrive to you with the promise they were baked within the hour? I’d like to see a certain viral cookie business do that!

Plus, our cookies are more than 2X the size of your average chocolate chip cookie and are filled with an exorbitant amount of quality chocolate! 🍫 (we use a combination of quality dark/semisweet chocolate chips and high-end dark chocolate bars broken up into pieces.)

If we added anymore chocolate to them we would be out of business!
